Race fans – start your engines! Our hemp farm, Sunset Lake CBD, has partnered with Jazz Legend Racing for the 2025 season as a sponsor, and Car #165 will be joining us at Lake Effect Vermont on Friday, August 22nd (3pm-6pm), for a “Meet the Car” event!

The Legend coupe, driven by the “World’s Oldest Rookie” Ron Horton, will be participating in over a dozen races this summer from New Hampshire to Virginia, and is making a pit stop in South Hero for the afternoon so fans can snap some photos and meet the driver!

Sporting #165, the Jazz Legend car is a 5/8ths model based on 1937 Ford and Chevy coupes and is an homage to Horton’s father, who drove a 1937 Chevy with the same number over 70 years ago.

“We’re proud to sponsor the Jazz Legend Racing car,” says Rev Baker, Director of Marketing at Sunset Lake CBD. “Ron has been a long-time supporter of our farm, and when he reached out with the opportunity to put our logo on the trunk of this classic car we revved our engines!”

Now in his 5th season, Horton is excited about the partnership with Sunset Lake CBD for personal reasons. “Sunset Lake CBD has been a part of my nightly routine for a while now,” says Horton. “My neuropathy kept me awake most nights until I found Sunset Lake CBD. Now I get a regular night’s sleep so that I can do my best to be a race car driver at age 76. It was a no-brainer to forge a partnership with an organization that helped me as much as they have.”

As the “World’s Oldest Rookie,” Horton started his professional racing career at 72 years old and is now racing his 5th season in the 2025 INEX Racing Series.
